Trying to manage a crazy #bossbabe life can be chaotic. I get it. Trust me, I do. As most of you know, I'm not your typical fitness blogger. On top of writing two books and hustling on Life in Spandex, I work a full-time managerial job. Add on errands and maintaining a social life, my schedule is far from relaxed. href="http://lifeinspandex.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/08/5-Ways-to-center-Your-Mind-and-Reset-Your-body.jpg However, I always strive to put my health first. There's a long-time saying, "health is wealth," and it's so true. I can let my schedule get the best of me at times. Just this past week I tweaked my neck in a workout. I wasn't doing anything crazy, just a simple side plank. Right before it happened, my mind
Hands up if you feel like your muscles get super tight in winter? Mine are raised oh so high. My body definitely prefers warmer weather (cue all the non-Californian readers rolling their eyes haha). It's really important to combat muscle stiffness caused by weather, intense training, and sedentary jobs to reduce your risk of injury. I came across an awesome foam rolling routine a couple weeks ago and asked the author, Cole, if I could share it! He agreed and was so excited he offered to write a post to go along with it for my readers. Without further ado, enjoy! Hello Life in Spandex readers! Sunshine, bathing suits, and long days makes summer an inspirational time of year to get outside, be spontaneous, and start something new. So it comes as no surprise that most want to start a new exercise regimen during the warmer months. One of the most "no-brainer" forms of exercise is running. It's a total body workout that burns major calories and all you need is a pair of shoes, a ponytail, and a road! I never thought I'd love running. A dancer in my teen years, running even just a mile felt like death. Now? I can't go more than two days without hitting the pavement, trails, or treadmill. Give me a good playlist and there's no bad mood a run can't
*Brooks Running sent me free running gear in exchange for writing this blog post and hosting this give-a-way. However, all opinions and statements are my own. I truly love this brand! Jane did not receive any free gear. I want to start by giving a HUGE congrats to my client Jane! She is competing in the Napa Valley Marathon next weekend with the hope of qualifying for the Boston Marathon! I have no doubt she'll make it. Her dedication to her 14-week prep is inspiring. There were definitely days where she came into the gym exhausted and sore from long-runs and very early mornings (all while juggling her demanding schedule and responsibilities as a high-school teacher). However, she always pushed through.
