The experimenting all started in my first college apartment. No, not that kind of experimenting! I'm talking about baking!! College Emily would sometimes (ok, kind of often) turn down plans in order to stay in, watch a movie, and come up with a new baking concoction. Aside from my occasional anti-social behavior, I've always had a major sweet tooth and have loved finding healthy ways to satisfy it! You can thank my love-hate relationship with sugar for recipes like my Chocolate Banana Nut Protein Pancakes, Tropical Mango Smoothie Bowl, Yogurt and Chocolate Dipped Strawberries, and Double Chocolate Single Serve Mug Cake. The easiest way to start experimenting with baking recipes is to swap out the not-so-healthy ingredients for healthier ones!
Happy Thanksgiving everyone! I hope you're all enjoying precious time and delicious food with your loved ones. Whether it be in our career, personal life, or fitness journey, so much of our year is spent working towards goals we want for our future. Too often we are always looking for more; more money, more friends, more house, more cars, more willpower, more time to workout. One of my favorite parts about Thanksgiving is it's a reminder to find gratitude for what we already have. Last year I shared these same three ways to find thanks. I know how easy it is to forget about finding gratitude. So, I wanted to share them again! Find thanks for the life you have now.
Hello beautiful people! A big CONGRATS to all of you who completed the Summer Shape Up Series 4-Week Workout Challenge! If you are one of those ladies, I would love to hear your feedback about your results, what you liked about the challenge, and what you struggled with. If you don't feel comfortable commenting below, you can shoot me an email at email@example.com or post in the Private Facebook Group :). As a personal trainer, I hear it a lot, "I'm doing everything I should be doing but I just can't seem to lose weight." My trainer/fittie/health guru/fitness friend alarms go off when I hear this. This is a huge turning point where someone decides to make a change or to give
I've heard it over and over again, "I'll workout, give up junk food, heck, I won't eat carbs. But, take away my wine? Count me out!" I get it. Not only does a cocktail taste good, drinking alcohol is fun. You feel that post-workout glow, meditative calm, and happiness without putting in any of the work! And sometimes, it's totally okay to take a shortcut to your mental island get-a-way. Personally, I don't drink on a regular basis. When I come home from stressful day at work, it's not instinctual to pour a glass of Rose. I drink maybe once a week or for special occasions like a friend's birthday, wedding, date night, or girls night in. If you're the type to
Break out those sleeveless tops, ladies - spring is upon us! I love the spring. I feel refreshed, motivated, and inspired. Something about the smell in the air after an April shower, the beautiful colors of bloomed flowers and growing trees, and the mild heat paired with a light breeze gets me into my groove. I feel the most beautiful and feminine when the sun is shining and my clothes are flowy and a little more, well, revealing. Whether you're a halter top kinda gal, ready to rock a sexy strapless ensemble, or in love with a classic tank, having firm arms and sculpted shoulders can make you feel so much more confident. But, who has the time to spend hours in the gym in
