Running Gear You’ll Want to Wear Everywhere!

*Disclaimer: Brooks Running sent me free gear in exchange for this blog post. However, all opinions and statements are my own. I truly love this brand!

About three months ago I hobbled into Sports Authority (oh man, and still wearing my personal training uniform), pressing deep into my hip trying to alleviate a muscle spasm. Apparently, this is what it takes to persuade me that I need new running shoes. I walked to the back of the store to the shoe department and told the sales person to give me their best pair for running. He brought me shoes with an emblem I recognized because one of my personal training clients wears them. She’s an excellent competitive runner, so I had high hopes for these new kicks. Then, the sales person told me that they had memory foam in the sole of the shoe. I could feel my hip relaxing already! I put on the bright (and I mean bright) pink shoe and it was like I was the runner-girl version of Cinderella. No, I’m not exaggerating. The shoe fit like a glove and I knew I had found my new go-to running shoe brand, Brooks Running!

Needless to say, I bought the shoe.

If you’ve been following me on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, or Pinterest, you probably know that I love to run. I’m not a runner, per say, but my workouts include at least 4-5 runs per week. Whether its a longer 5-mile outdoors, a quick 2 mile warm-up before weight lifting, or a full-out sprint or interval session on the treadmill, it’s one of my favorite ways to alleviate stress, amp up for a workout, or get some extra cardio in. Yes, the shoes have rocked my runs. I’ve decreased my mile time by almost a minute now! But, what I love most about them is the versatility. I wear them around town (because they’re way too cute not to), to and from the barre studio, and for my strength training sessions. I pretty much wear them all day long. I knew I had to email Brooks and tell them how grateful I am for their product!

I was so excited when I got a response! They told me how they loved my story and wanted to not only send me another pair of the Brooks Launch 2 shoes, but also a super cute outfit to go along with it!

They shipped me sassy bright pink reversible pants, relaxed tank top, adorable sports bra, sheer windbreaker, and my beloved Launch 2 shoes in purple. When I opened the box of product, the first thing I noticed was the quality of the fabric. Oh my gosh their clothes are so soft! The day got better when I put them on.

The Green Light Capris SE are super soft, stretchy, and flattering! They hug my hips in the perfect place where there isn’t too much “spillage” haha! Ladies, don’t pretend like you don’t know what I’m talking about. They have the perfect little storage pocket in the back. I also love how they’re reversible, one side with pattern and one without.

The LSD Jacket may be my favorite piece of the bunch. The length hit my hips in the perfect place and it fit just snug enough. It wasn’t binding but gave me shape and made me feel feminine.

The Women’s Distance Tank is the perfect everyday top. Did I mention how soft all they’re clothes are?! I like the relaxed fit of the tank. It’s a nice change from the rest of my skin tight wardrobe ;). I would totally wear this top with jeans, too!

I don’t think I need to say much about the Fine Form Sports Bra. It speaks for itself. I mean, how cute?! I would totally wear this to a barre or yoga class. In fact, I have. I’ve gotten compliments everytime! It doesn’t dig in or chafe and gives ample support. I ordered my regular bra size and it fit true to size.

And, well, the Launch 2 Running Shoes. The shoes fit just like the first pair I had purchased, perfectly.

  1. […] When I was younger, I could get away with buying my running shoes and sports bras solely based on their look and price tag (the cheaper the better). However, I’ve been more prone to injury as I’ve gotten older, and my girls just won’t bare the bouncing of cheapy bras anymore. That’s when I found Brooks Running. […]

  2. Great post! Love the entire collection.

  4. Great Pics, Love your site! definately need a new workout wardrobe !! xx

  5. I have been looking for some new workout gear, so thanks! 🙂

    1. You’re welcome, Jessica! Let me know what you order 🙂

  6. The outfit looks great. I especially like the sports bra and jacket. I haven’t tried this brand of running shoes, but I do like Asics.

    1. Oh I’ve heard great things about Asics too!! Thank you Erlene! They feel amazing too.

  7. The Launch is a great shoe! I’ve tried out a different model Brooks a couple years ago that unfortunately didn’t work for me but I’ve heard great things about the launch and actually tried them on once. I’ve been running in Nikes since high school (so like 20 years!). They are kinda old school but they always work for me! Last year I got into Hokas as well which also work fantastically for me. Everyone’s foot is so different. It’s interesting to see what works best for each person!

    1. The Launch is my baby haha. I’ve actually never heard of Hokas! Looking them up :). So true! I have super high arches and so shoes that work for my feet sometimes feel awful for people who have flatter feet. Thanks for stopping by, Jill!!

  8. They look great! I’m always looking for some new gym clothes. 🙂

    1. Thanks, Marie! Me too 😉

  9. We’re very similar when I comes to shoes. My recent pair was causing me feet and shin pain and I took being in pain for a week before I would get new shoes. Not smart, I know, but yeah….

    1. Haha it happens to the best of us 😉

  10. Oooh love all of these pieces!! Those pink pants are adorable!

    1. I know, I’m totally obsessed! They’re affordable too 🙂

  11. I recommend Altra and Lems shoes. Altra has many options leaning towards minimalist. Lems is a true minimalist shoe and definitely not for everybody.

    1. Thanks for the recommendation!!! I usually like support in my shoe and a little added spring. Minimalist shoes tend to intimidate me lol

      1. Movement, gait and feet are my thing. I try to help people find natural shoes where possible since the shape of the foot can be adversely changed overtime. But going minimalist shouldn’t be done lightly. There is reason to be cautious if you have been running in supportive shoes

        1. Are they?! That’s awesome :). Thanks again for the advice, Cynthia!

  12. Love all the purple! I run a fashion link up every Wednesday (still live!). I would love you to come and add a link 🙂

  13. Good shoe to buy!

    1. Yes they’re amazing!!

  14. Great post and I love your photos. You look so happy when you’re running. My favourite sports apparel brand would have to be Nike! I love the design of their running shoes.

    1. Thank you Sandy! I love the way running makes me feel. Nike definitely knows how to make some nifty kicks ?
