Gameday Workout Challenge

Aside from USC football games, FIGHT ON!, I’m not much of a fan of watching football on tv. Despite my passion for athleticism, my attention span is just not long enough for a 3+ hour slow-paced sports game. However, since dating Robby, the frequency of my sports watching has exponentially increased. Sports are truly his passion and I love partaking in something he loves so much. I have to admit, most of the time I’m there for more moral support and usually get caught red handed scrolling through Instagram or reading other fitness blogs during the game. However, he can’t really complain since his game day snacks have gotten quite the upgrade since I came into the picture!

Greasy chicken wings, processed ranch dressing, and fast food pizza have been replaced with fresh vegetables and homemade pita chips with hummus, whole-grain quesadillas filled with lean chicken and all-natural cheese, from scratch guacamole with baked tortilla chips, quinoa pizza bites, and chocolate chip protein cookies you’d never guess are actually good for you. And his friends can vouch, there are no complaints that the old snacks are out!

We got comfortable on our couch yesterday to watch our home team’s, the San Francisco Forty Niners, debut game at our new Levi’s stadium. Well, our comfortable couch watching quickly went out the window. We decided it was a great idea to sneak in a workout during the game by playing a game of our own! Let me tell ya, this workout is harder than you think! I can’t believe how many commercial breaks there are in a game. In all honesty, we tapped out of our challenge a little over halfway through the game when I started to cook dinner. Next time we’ll make it the whole time! This would be so much fun to do with a group of people too and see who can last the longest. This is definitely a #fitty’s version of a drinking game!
