No your eyes have not deceived you. I have deviously come up with a recipe for Chicken n' Waffles that is low carb, high protein, paleo, gluten-free, and super yummy! One of the best things about chicken n' waffles? It's salty meets sweet, breakfast meets dinner, crispy meets soft, the list goes on. It satisfies a plethora of cravings. However, this high-sugar, high-fat, high-calorie dish falls short in the health category. I was inspired to make a healthier version after my week-long trip in Pinehearst and Charlotte, North Carolina where the options for fried chicken and sweets are endless. Needless to say, I took full advantage of being on vacay and ate to my hearts desire. Sometimes that meant ordering a
Hi guys! I'm in the process of moving and the majority of my time has been spend building beds, moving boxes, and organizing our stuff. I didn't realize how much of it we have! How my boyfriend and I managed to fit all of our stuff in a one bedroom apartment with one main closet and one coat closet is beyond me. Now, I'm in North Carolina! So, this week I thought I'd mix it up and feature another awesome fitness and healthy living blogger who knows how to make a mean energy bar! I love her plant-based take on cooking and her recipes are seriously yummy! Another #girlboss and #gymrat who has had an amazing fitness transformation... Bri! Hi

Stacked with protein, healthy fats, low in carbs, and sugar-free, you could literally eat these donuts for breakfast every day. Okay, you can hug me

What I didn't realize was, although it was healthier than reaching for a candy bar, it was by no means a viable meal replacement. Okay, so here's the scoop. There is a time and place for protein or energy bars and there's also certain criteria for finding one beneficial for your goals. I'm breaking down the good, the bad, and the tasty for picking the best protein bars.
I know we're all thinking it, where in the world did this past year go?! Looking back at 2015, I feel really good about the things I accomplished and I'm hopeful that 2016 will top it! I created Life in Spandex about a year and a half ago when I quit my full-time marketing job to become a certified personal trainer and group fitness instructor. However, it wasn't until July 2015 that I decided to really go for this whole blogging thing. I started posting more regularly, worked on outreach and networking, gave the website a whole new look and feel, updated my imagery with professional photo and video shoots, got branded, started a YouTube channel, got on the Pinterest train,
